Minimum Essential Gear

·       Sleeping Bag- Synthetic filled 20 Degree Rating

·       Sleeping Pad- Foam or Inflatable

·       Day Pack- 1700 to 1800 cu.in. capacity w/ water bottle sleeve

·       Two 1 liter Water Bottles- USA made wide mouth polyethylene or polycarbonate

·       Mess Kit- high temperature plastic bowl, spoon and cup

·       Well broken in hiking boots or rugged tennis shoes.

·       Zippered Gear Bag (for essential gear)

·        Rain Gear

Additional Gear

(First Class Scouts and up)

·       Two man tent- avoid ultra light gear

·       Two pair of Boot socks and liner socks

·       Rain Gear- windbreaker style (bottoms optional)

·       Thermal underwear- Mid Weight top and bottom

All gear above should be purchased with the guidance of professional outfitters and/or the help of experienced adult leaders. Please ask if you have any questions about the suitability of gear before you buy.

 The Troop will provide tents, stoves, cooking gear, patrol equipment, and water purifiers for all patrols if needed.
