Troop 993 has been around for over 30 years and is a national Boy Scout Quality Unit. The adult leaders working with the boys have decades worth of experience in Scouting.  The Troop is organized on a boy run, boy lead philosophy, in other words it's their Troop, and the adults are here to help. Troop 993 has 56 registered boys and 14 registered adult leaders.

The Troop is extremely active and has activities of interest to almost everyone!  Whether it's hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, mountain biking, camping, or learning outdoor skills that you like, Troop 993 has it all.  Not to mention the more than 140 merit badges available that deal with special interests from aviation to woodcarving. In scouting there really is something for everyone.

Troop 993 goes on about 12 camping trips annually, including a full week at summer camp and a high adventure outing. High adventure trips in the past have included treks to the St. Lawrence river in Canada, camping and hiking in Kauai, Hawaii, sailing throughout South Florida, and backpacking through the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico! Also, the Troop takes outings to the bowling alley, ice rink, laser tag, amusement park, and sporting events!

In the past decade alone Troop 993 has had over 30 boys achieve Eagle, the highest rank possible in scouting.  A number way above the national average, which shows the continuing excellence of the Troop in quality adult leadership, organization, and the outstanding character and commitment of the boys.

Troop 993 is designed to give boys a safe environment where they can learn life skills through adventure, working with others, and developing personal interests.
